Automotive felt for lining and trimming car interiors — headliners, door cards, boot spaces, wheel arches and sound insulation. Sold by the metre, in industrial widths, from our warehouse in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia. What automotive felt isIt is a non-woven fabric: the fibres are pressed and needle-punched against one another instead of being spun and woven. That is where its useful property in upholstery comes from — it cuts without fraying at the edges and it shapes to curved surfaces without creasing. That is what lets you line a pillar or the curve of a boot with a clean finish, where an ordinary fabric would wrinkle.Where it is usedLining car door cards — interior panels and handles, where felt hides irregularities in the backing and deadens rattles.Headliners and roof lining — for those who prefer the matt finish of felt to the sheen of headliner vinyl. For roofs with foam bonded to the back, see headliner fabrics.Boot spaces and wheel arches — it stands up to loads being dragged across it and deadens road noise.Sound insulation — fitted under the carpet or behind the panels.Furniture — interior linings for drawers, cabinet backs and bases.ColoursWe stock felt in black, grey (plain, dark, mottled and Grey 301), bege, brown and blue. Besides the plain colours, the classic automotive upholstery patterns — Madrid, Paris and the Decorseries, in four variants plus Decor Blue. There is also synthetic felt, in the standard version and in the reinforced 1400 weight, for when you want more body and durability. How to chooseFor linings on show — doors, headliners, panels — choose by colour, since it will be visible. For what stays hidden — insulation, underlay beneath carpet, cabinet backs — choose by weight, which is what decides durability and how well it deadens sound. If you need a specific thickness, tell us: we hold more in the warehouse than is published on the site.Where to buyWe have been a wholesale warehouse since 2002, in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia, and we supply upholsterers, workshops and manufacturers throughout Portugal — with shipping across Europe.
